Evangelism Trip – Kagwada, Sudan
In April, 2003 Evangelist Simon Wani Soka and his 10 person evangelism team traveled northeast to Kagwada, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on April 14 and returned on April 19. The JESUS Film was shown in the Bari language. During this evangelism trip a total of 5,600 people were born again as new believers in Jesus. Approximately 60% of the new believers had been animists and 5% had been Muslims. Many animists who were born again burned their magic charms. One new Presbyterian church will be started in Kagwada for the new believers. The Bari tribe was reached during this trip.
The new believers were handed over to the Presbyterian Church of Yei to coordinate follow-up. The evangelism team distributed 75 bibles in the Bari language and 25 bibles in the Arabic language to born again believers who could read.
