Evangelism Trip Nebi District, Uganda
In June, 2003 Bishop Taban and his 16 person evangelism team (including 6 women) traveled 1 1/2 days south to Nebi District, Uganda. The team left Yei, Sudan on June 16 and returned on June 30. Bishop Taban had to leave the team early to return to Yei, so Evangelist Charles Hakim was the team leader for the rest of the trip. The team showed the JESUS Film in many towns and villages in the Nebi District including Gabi, Pamora, Akaba, Padwot, and Kosh. During this evangelism trip a total of 6,080 people were born again as new believers in Jesus. The JESUS Film was shown in the Alur language. The JESUS Film was also shown from DVD in English. Approximately 30% of the new believers had been animists, and 13% had been Muslims. The tribes reached were mainly the Alur with some Lugbara and Madi.
The National Pentecostal Church of Uganda will handle all follow-up. The evangelism team distributed 150 Bibles in the Alur language and 50 Bibles in English to born again believers who could read.
