Evangelism Trip Aru, Kelego, Ariwara, Adi, Ndiri, DRC
In July, 2004 Pastor Alex Alimbe and his 11 person evangelism team traveled south to Aru, Kelego, Ariwara, Adi, and Ndiri, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The team left Yei, Sudan on July 12 and returned on July 31. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala language.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:
| Locations | Indicated Decisions for Christ |
|---|---|
| Aru | 2,080 |
| Kelego | 1,900 |
| Ariwara | 1,800 |
| Adi | 2,700 |
| Ndiri | 1,400 |
| Total | 9,880 |
Approximately 50% of the new believers had been animists and 15% had been Muslims. The Kakwa, Kaliko, Logo and Lugbara tribes were primarily reached during this trip.
The team reported that the new believers that resulted from our June 2003 evangelism trip are doing fine. Some of these new believers came forward to help the team with follow-up.
The Community Evangelical Church of the Congo (CECA) has asked us to train a special team for this area because of the many decisions for Christ. The CECA also wants Bishop Taban and another team to come back as soon as possible for discipleship follow-up training. One new Presbyterian church was planted in Ndiri. Regarding follow-up, the new believers were handed over to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Community Evangelical Church of the Congo. The evangelism team distributed 500 bibles all in the Lingala language.
