Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip Kuluba, Oraba, Keri, and Koboko, Uganda and Bazi, and Kaya, Sudan
In November, 2004 Evangelist Mathew Dada and his 9 person evangelism team traveled southeast to Kuluba, Oraba, Keri, and Koboko, Uganda and Bazi, and Kaya, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on November 15 and returned on December 5.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:
| Town | Indicated Decisions for Christ |
|---|---|
| Kuluba, Uganda | 2,100 |
| Oraba, Uganda | 1,400 |
| Keri, Uganda | 700 |
| Koboko, Uganda | 200 |
| Bazi, Sudan | 1,900 |
| Kaya, Sudan | 1,000 |
| Total | 7,300 |
Approximately 40% of the new believers had been animists, and 15% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Kakwa, and Aringa languages to mainly the Kakwa, and Lugbara tribes.
One new Presbyterian church was planted in Keri, Uganda. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Sudan Pentecostal Church, and the Church of Uganda. During this trip, 550 bibles were distributed with 300 in the Kakwa language and 250 in the Lugbara language.
The team reported that the churches previously planted in Bazi and Kaya are doing very well. This area of Sudan borders Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. People are constantly moving through this area in trading. The team estimates that 65% of the people that had previously made decisions for Christ in past evangelism trips are still following Christ. A significant amount of discipleship follow-up was done during this trip. The follow-up training concentrated on Matthew 10:14, Romans 10:13-14, 2 Timothy 2:2, and 1 Corinthians 11:1.
