Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip Tonj, Aguka, Thiet, Medar, Makuac, Sudan
In January, 2005 Evangelist Philip Marial and his 9 person evangelism team traveled northwest to Tonj, Aguka, Thiet, Medar, and Makuac, Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on January 12 and returned on February 5.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:
| Town | Indicated Decisions for Christ |
|---|---|
| Tonj | 750 |
| Aguka | 2,400 |
| Thiet | 1,800 |
| Medar | 4,600 |
| Makuac | 3,900 |
| Total | 13,450 |
Approximately 60% of the new believers had been animists, and 15% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Dinka and Arabic languages to the Dinka, Dongo, and Balanda tribes. Two new churches were planted in Medar and Makuac. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 100 bibles were distributed in the Dinka language.
In Tonj the team taught 2 days of discipleship training. Many subjects were taught including the following:
- The Christian and marriage from 1st Corinthians 7.
- Life among believers from Acts 2:42-47.
- Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:16-26.
Several people who were sick were prayed over and were healed. These healings shocked many Muslims who then gave their lives to Christ. Some of the people who could read and write thought bibles were too holy to touch. They were surprised that Gods word was available to everyone.

People who made decisions the
previous night choose a church.
