Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip Lainya, Loka, Kagwada, Kulipapa, Sudan
In April, 2005 Evangelist Justin Kenyi and his 10 person evangelism team traveled to several villages on the Yei-Juba road of Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on April 18 and returned on May 8.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:
| Village | Indicated Decisions for Christ |
|---|---|
| Lainya | 1,700 |
| Loka | 500 |
| Kagwada | 780 |
| Kulipapa | 2,040 |
| Total | 5,020 |
Approximately 55% of the new believers had been animists, and 2% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Bari language to the Bari and Pojulu tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Sudan Pentecostal Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 500 bibles were distributed in the Bari language.
The team taught discipleship training for three days in Lainya and four days in Kagwada. The team concentrated their teaching in the two topics listed below:
- Spiritual Growth and Discipleship Our goal is for every member of the congregation to be trained to witness (Matthew 28:18-20 and many more passages were emphasized)
- Accountability-Hebrews 10:24-25 and Matthew 18:15-17 and many other passages were used for this teaching.
The team reported that the churches that our teams had previously planted were doing well. However, these churches are overburdened with the physical needs of refugees that have returned home.
Below are some photos from this trip.
