Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip Bor, Mongala, Gemieza, Malek, Sudan
In January, 2006 Evangelist Simon Deng and his 9 person evangelism team traveled northeast to Bor, Mongala, Gemieza, and Malek, Sudan. This area had previously been under control of the Government of Sudan before the Comprehensive Peace Agreement was signed. Now the area is under control of the Government of Southern Sudan. The team left Yei, Sudan on January 10 and returned on March 3.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Approximately 60% of the new believers had been animists, and 10% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Bari and Dinka languages to the Bari and Dinka tribes. One new church was planted in Mongala. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Episcopal Church of Sudan, and the Sudan Pentecostal Church. A total of 500 bibles were distributed with 300 bibles in Dinka and 200 bibles in Bari.
Discipleship follow-up training was conducted on the following topics:
- Salvation by faith (Romans 10:9-10; Isaiah 1:18; John 1:12; Romans 3:23-24; etc)
- Answering Pauls question, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? (Acts 1:8, 2:38-39, 19:1-2; John 16:13, 26; Romans 8:14-15, 26; etc)
- Walking in the light and the blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin (Romans 7:22, 8:26; 1 John 1:5, 7, 3:21-22; Psalms 37:4; etc.)
- Understanding, Eating the flesh of the Son of Man and drinking his blood (John 6:53-56; 1 John 5:3; etc.)
