Approximately 60% of the new believers had been animists and 2% had been Muslims. Most of the newly born again were refugees that had returned to these areas in the last several years. The JESUS Film was shown in the Kakwa and Lingala languages to mostly the Kakwa and Kaliko tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be handled by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC), the Sudan Pentecostal Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 400 bibles were distributed in the Bari language.
Our discipleship training concentrated on the theme How to Overcome Despair. The team used the following scriptures in training: 1 Corinthians 4:8-9,16-18; Hebrews 6:19, 13:5-6; Matthew 11:28-30; Psalm 30:5,8-12; Philippians 4:8,12-13; 1 Chronicles 30:9; Psalm 103:10-12, 147:3; Galatians 6:9; Isaiah 40:29-31, 61:1-3; 1 John 4:16.
