Discipleship follow-up training was conducted on "Overcoming Evil." The following themes and verses were used in this teaching:

  1. Seek to communiate privately with the person who has wronged you (Matthew 18:15).
  2. If you can’t get the matter settled, take one or two with you (Matthew 18:16).
  3. If that does not work, tell it to the church and seek help there (Matthew 18:17).
  4. Bless those who persecute you (Romans 12:14).
  5. Paul explains how to overcome evil and how to react when someone wrongs you (Romans 12:17-21).
  6. Do not seek revenge (Romans 12:17-19; Proverbs 20:22).
  7. Pursue peace with everyone (Romans 12:18).
  8. Overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
  9. Imitate Jesus by suffering wrongfully, if need be. In no way should you try to get even (1 Peter 2:18-23; 1 Peter 2:21; 1 Peter 3:8-9).
  10. Love your enemies and do good to them (Matthew 5:43-47; Romans 12:20).
  11. Turn your other cheek and be kind to the person who has wronged you (Matthew 5:38-42; 1 Thessalonians 5:15).
  12. Do not testify against your neighbor or seek revenge (Proverbs 24:28-29).
  13. Moses gives practical examples of what to do after someone has wronged you (Exodus 23:4-5).
