Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip – Pibor, Gumuruk, Ajwara, Boma, Pakok, Pochalla, Sudan
In November, 2009 Pastor John Mayen of the ECS and his 9 person evangelism team traveled east to Pibor, Gumuruk, Ajwara, Boma, Pakok, and Pochalla Sudan. The team left on November 15 and returned on December 18.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:

Approximately 70% of the new believers had been animists, and 1% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Anuak and Nuer languages to mainly the Anuak, Nuer, and Murle tribes. Follow-up of the new believers will be done by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 400 Nuer bibles were distributed.
Discipleship training was conducted on “Knowing the Living God”. God reveals himself in more than one way. Even in his names he reveals the fullness and majesty of his being. Each name reflects something different. Here are some of the names of God.
- Elohim-God
- Jehovah-Lord I Am Who I Am
- El Shaddai-The Almighty
- El Elyon-The Most High
- Jehovah Sabaoth-The Lord of Hosts

- God is invisible-1 Timothy 1:17
- God is eternal-Psalms 90:2
- God is Omniscient (all knowing), Omnipotent (Almighty), Omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time)-Psalms 139
- God is the creator and sustainer of all things-Romans 11:36
