Evangelism and Discipleship Training Trip – Naam, Meke, Nanunde, Angutua, Embe, Sudan
In April, 2010 Evangelist Thomas Yuma and his 9 person evangelism team traveled northwest to Naam, Meke, Nanunde, Angutua, and Embe, Sudan. The team left Yei on April 12 and returned on May 10.
The results of what God did through the evangelism team are listed below:
| Village | Indicated Decisions For Christ |
| Naam | 1,800 |
| Meke | 2,300 |
| Nanunde | 3,000 |
| Angutua | 1,500 |
| Embe | 2,000 |
| Total | 10,600 |
Approximately 45% of the new believers had been animists, and 10% had been Muslims. The JESUS Film was shown in the Lingala language to mainly the Baka, Avokaya, and Mundu tribes. One church was planted in Naam. Follow-up of the new believers will be done by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, the Sudan Pentecostal Church, and the Episcopal Church of Sudan. A total of 400 Lingala bibles were distributed. The team reported that the people of this area had been really suffering due to displacement to avoid the LRA. However, earlier this year they returned to their homes.
Discipleship training was conducted on “Some Things We Know About Our Life in Heaven.” Some of the topics that our team taught about are listed below:
- We will live and walk in an extremely close, personal relationship with God. To be with someone who loves you more than you can ever imagine and created you for Himself, will be truly Heaven- 1 John 2:5-6; Eph 3:18; Rev 3:12.
- We will adore and glorify God completely-Rev. 21:3-5.
- We will know Christ our Lord forever-Phil 1:23; 1 Cor 15:49; Rev 3:4, 21; 1 Thess 4:17.
- We will know God completely-1 Cor 13:12.
- We will experience communion with God, His angels and all the saints- Phil 3:20; 1 Peter 1:4; Rev 7:9, 19:16, 21:3, 22:3-4.
